Support Vernon Family Farm

My name is Angela Najem, I am close friends with the Vernons. The Vernon Family Farm takes great pride in what they offer to their community: A gathering place, quality locally grown food, and a refuge to step outside our often hectic lives and connect with community. I have spent more Fridays than not in the past five years attending community events at the Vernon Family Farm. The Vernons have poured their heart and soul into making their farm a place where everyone feels welcome all while growing sustainable and healthy food.

All of those beautiful things the Vernon Family Farm offers are at risk due to increased/unnecessary demands from the Planning Board of Newfields, NH. The past few months have been exceptionally hard for the Vernons emotionally and financially. In the last two months, the town has forced Vernon Family Farm to incur legal costs that small family farms cannot afford.

After the last planning board meeting, It has become clear that the Planning Board continues to be unwilling to work with Vernon Family Farm in a meaningful way. I fear the town has shown no sign of relenting. The farm's Legal fees and infrastructure projects the town is demanding will put even more strain on a small family farm.

All money raised will go to helping the Vernon's challenge and meet the demands of a planning board intent on over-regulating a family farm.
