Veronica, a mother of five in Troy, NY, is facing every parent’s worst nightmare—the forced separation of her family.

On August 13th, her husband Jose was taken by federal agents on his way to work. He was first detained in Buffalo, where the Department of Homeland Security recently reported excessive force by guards, poor medical care, and inhumane conditions. Without warning, Jose was later moved across the country—making it impossible for Veronica and their children to see him.
Jose is the family’s sole provider. Their youngest child, only 5 months old, is waiting for an urgent organ transplant. The loss of Jose’s income has left the family on the edge, struggling to cover even their rent while carrying the heavy emotional toll of separation.
We are raising funds to secure stable housing for Veronica and her children for the next year. Any additional support will go toward legal fees to fight for Jose’s return.
Veronica’s strength is unwavering, but she cannot do this alone. Together, we can ensure her children have a safe home and give this family a fighting chance to be reunited.
Let’s show up for Veronica’s family—and for all our neighbors fighting to stay together.
