Help Us Move to Safety After a Traumatic Event

Hi, my name is Veronica. On the night of October 21st, while sitting on my apartment balcony, I was shot in the neck by a stray bullet. According to the police, the shooting was gang-related, and I had no involvement—I was simply caught in the crossfire.

This terrifying incident was the fifth shooting in our apartment complex this year. My fiancé and I can no longer stay here—we urgently need to move to a safer place. Unfortunately, I only work part-time while attending school, and although my fiancé works full-time, we're struggling financially.

We’re asking for help to break our lease and relocate to a safer environment. This is not something I would normally ask for, but after what’s happened, we are desperate for a way out.
