Support Veterans Through Hockey with Rucks 2 Pucks

A little bit about me… been playing hockey my whole life and a 9 year Army veteran. Rucks 2 Pucks took me under their wing with a motto of “breaking the ice on veteran suicide” and I see that as a truth. Hockey is my escape from the real world and a connection to some of the best veterans I have come in contact with. Fundraising from their organization has also geared my youngest daughter up with all the hockey equipment she needs to play this coming fall.

About the charity: Rucks 2 Pucks is a non-profit 501c3 charity where our mission is to help veterans and their families by promoting an active lifestyle through hockey. We promote the lifestyle to provide a sense of community and camaraderie, something veterans often lose once leaving the service. This is a key component in fighting veteran suicide and reducing the 22 a day.

How we do it: Throughout the year we host events where veterans and their families can come together, talk hockey and just enjoy each other company. We rent ice for open skate, sponsor teams and/or players in leagues and tournament. Our non-profit mission is made possible because of our amazing donors and volunteers.

What am I raising money for: All players are required to fundraise $1250 to play against the Bruins Alumni and money raised will go towards Rucks 2 Pucks charity. This money will give veterans the chance to learn to play, keep playing, and for children of veterans to gear up who need the help.
