Support Vicki Crandall's fight against cancer

Hello, My name is David.

My sister, Eva, and I have created this gofundme to help raise funds to help care for our mom, Vicki Crandall, 61, who is currently in the hospital suffering from pancreatic cancer. The mass on her pancreas is too large to surgically remove, and has caused many severe health conditions.

All proceeds will go directly to Vicki and her husband, Dave, to help provide her with medical treatment, care, and comfort as she battles this life-threatening illness.

Vicki is a wonderful mother, a vibrant personality with a tender, caring heart. There are few people I know who can touch a person's heart the way my mom can.

Over the last several months, she had been taking long trips from Fresno to Redwood city to care for her mother, Gloria, who had just turned 89. She'd stay at her home for extended periods of time provide, often several weeks at a time, to give her mother company, care, and help her with her day-to-day.

When she wasn't caring for her mom, she was at her home caring for her husband Dave, he daugher, Eva & her husband and family. She would watch her grandkids, and do her best to make everyone in her household feel joy and comfort. Inbetween her drives from Fresno and Redwood City, she would often stop in San Jose to visit me. We'd have lunch or dinner, talk about life, laugh, hug, and look forward to our next visit. And when she aways made sure to email or text me that she loves me as often as she could.

On the evening of September 2nd, 2022, while at her mother's, Vicki had become ill and rushed to the emergency room. Over the next several days, it would be discovered that she had a large, malignant tumor on her pancreas, multiple satellite tumors on her stomach, among a number of other worrisome symptoms.

The tumor is too large to surgically remove. The hospital is doing all they can to make her comfortable, relieve her symtoms, and bring her to a healthy enough state to receive treatment... treatment that would hopefully reduce the mass of the tumor, in exchange for a prolonged, higher quality of life. But before this can happen, she requires treatment for various life-threatening health issues that have occured as a result of the cancerous tumors.

Vicki has been an amazing caregiver for her family, providing financial, spiritual, and loving emotional support to her children, husband, and grandchildren our entire lives. She has never asked for one thing in return.

Today, I ask all who can to please donate to this fundraiser. All proceeds will go directly to her and her husband, Dave. Dave has been by her hospital bedside every single day, loving for her, caring for her, praying for her, offering care for Vicki's mother, and doing his best to make sure Vicki receives the treatment and care she requires.

Donations received will go toward any bills that come from providing Vicki Crandall with immediate medical treatment to allow her recovery, and any resulting treatment thereafter. In addition, these funds will offer financial help to enable our family to improve Vicki's quality of life and comfort during this difficult time.

In addition to funds, we also ask for your prayers -- prayers of healing and comfort, that she may overcome and defeat this sickness, and continue living a life of joy.
