Support the Heroes of Bangladesh’s Freedom Movement

Bangladesh has achieved a historic victory against tyranny during August, but this triumph came at a significant cost. Brave citizens, including students, workers, and community members, risked their lives to stand against injustice. Many endured unimaginable violence, leaving them with severe injuries and uncertain futures.

We are raising funds to support four courageous individuals whose lives have been upended by the recent struggles:

1. Faruk & Manik Mia

Faruk and his son, Manik, suffered devastating burns from a petrol bullet explosion during the protests on August 5th. After a month of treatment, they were discharged from the hospital but now face severe financial hardship. They struggle daily to meet even their basic needs. Your contribution can help them recover and sustain their lives.

2. Nupur

Nupur’s story is one of resilience and tragedy. She was shot three times in the legs, and while doctors managed to remove two bullets, the third remains embedded. Removing it would require amputating her leg, a life-altering outcome. Orphaned at five after losing her father, Nupur has faced hardship her entire life. She now stands at a crossroads, unsure of what the future holds. Your support can give her hope and access to proper care.

3. Mufti Firoz Ahmed

Mufti was subjected to a brutal attack, enduring 265 rubber bullet wounds. He has been in constant pain and, adding to his suffering, lost his job due to his injuries. As the sole provider for his family, Mufti’s inability to work has left his children vulnerable and without financial security. Your donation can help ease their burden and provide much-needed relief.

4. Mamun

Mamun was shot in the hand, shattering his bones. The complex and lengthy treatment process has rendered him unable to work. As the primary breadwinner for his wife and ailing mother, Mamun’s injury has placed his entire family in a dire situation.
