Please Support Viridian's Gender Affirming Surgery Revision
Donation protected
Hi hello! My name is Viridian, and I'm a 28 year old nonbinary trans person from Pennsylvania. I am pursuing a revision for my previous gender affirming surgery, called genital nullification surgery, and in order to get it I need help covering the cost of lodging for 10 nights, transportation (to/from surgery and pre/post op appointments, to/from the airport, to the grocery store, perhaps to/from the emergency room), and groceries (we are very poor and often have to stretch the time between grocery store trips for fresh food because we ran out of money) for me and my mandated post surgery caretaker (my mom). The previous surgery did help but there were a couple things it didn't fix (as my surgeon said I'd likely need a revision due to my starting anatomy) that resulted in me still experiencing gender dysphoria in that area. This surgery is necessary to improve my quality of life, which is deeply diminished by my current gender dysphoria. There are hardly any doctors in the country that perform this specific surgery so I need to travel out of state to Texas to get it. Luckily I already have the travel covered via an excellent organization called Elevated Access (which provides free flights to those needing to travel to access gender affirming care or an abortion, spread the word), and the surgery itself is covered by my Pennsylvania Medicaid as my doctor works with out of state insurance. The surgery is scheduled for January 31st next year, and I'm already worried that Texas (state it's in) will have gender affirming care bans ready to go when that man is sworn in, and if I don't meet my goal I'll have to reschedule which risks Texas banning care before I can have the surgery. So time is of the essence. ^^;; Thank you, thank you for listening to my story and for any donations or considering donating or sharing, it will really help me be able to live in my own body more peacefully <33
Cost breakdown: $900 (hotel with fees), $200 (surgery associated travel other than the flights to Texas and back), $200 (food)
Cover pic is me haha =) the beneficiary isn't my deadname, it's my mom. I'm disabled and have never been able to work so I live with her and she pays for everything.
