Meet Wade, a tenacious spirit who triumphed over cancer in 2019, embracing life's highs—from playing professional hockey to creating their dream home alongside his wife Karly and their precious daughters, Ava and Georgia. Wade refocused on what his new life would look like now. He found a passion in helping others protect themselves from unexpected realities like he once faced and ventured into a new career path in Life Insurance, gaining momentum into working again.
In September 2023 during a family camping trip, life threw an unexpected curveball. Wade, the man who fought so valiantly, faced a seizure once again. The first in nearly 4 years. He underwent a series of tests only to find out his cancer had returned again. This time he underwent a 5th brain surgery only to determine the pathology of the tumor.
The diagnosis: a grade 4 astrocytoma brain tumor. Cancer has made its way into their home again. This resilient family, once on the brink of their dreams, now confronts the harsh reality of this aggressive cancer. They have had to face some difficult conversations and were advised this type of tumor is known to only have a 1-2 year survival rate.
Wade, Karly and their families plan to not let the statistics distract them towards causing any sense of discouragement but instead plan to beat those odds by doing everything western medicine offers and then some.
In addition to going fully Keto and beginning his chemotherapy, Wade has already began further treatment at Port Moody Integrated Health and Cancer Center, which played a colossal part of his success beating cancer back in 2019. He plans to receive high doses of various IV treatments to include vitamin C and DCA to include Hypothermia treatments. Unfortunately, these costs are not covered through medical.
Wade's journey is not just a battle against a medical condition; it's a narrative of love, dreams shattered, and the unwavering determination to rebuild. As he undergoes these extra treatments, costing up to $10,000 per month, we kindly ask for your support.
Without the outpouring love and generosity in 2018, we don’t know where life would’ve taken their family. These uncertainties weigh heavily on Wade, Karly, Ava and Georgia as their dad and husband fight cancer again.
Your contribution, whether through financial aid, heartfelt connections, or simply considering insurance coverage with him and his partner at CamLife Financial, can make a profound impact on this family's narrative. Wade's determination to provide for his loved ones and his passion for ensuring others are protected resonate deeply and he hopes his story can be a reminder for us all the importance of protecting our health.
Let's unite, sharing our love, prayers, and healing to help the MacLeod family rewrite their story of hope. Thank you for being part of this journey with us and considering a token of help.
Thank You from the bottom of our hearts,
The friend's and family of the MacLeod Family.
