Hi all, I am doing this for my cousin Wallace Foo Chun, Wally to his friends. He passed away on December 9th, 2024 - a day before his 64th birthday. Wallace had been going through a rough year; dealing with pneumonia, having a pacemaker implanted, all while dealing with dialysis, which he very much hated. He went back to the hospital in late September and unfortunately never returned home.
We all grew up together in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, our capital. We grew up watching Bruce Lee movies and listening to Donna Summer soundtracks. Wally, the big Chinese “Cuzine”, would be wearing his tank tops and newsboy cap with a toothpick in his mouth, cruising around the neighborhood in his Olds 98 or "borrowing" his brother Ronald's Monte Carlo. And as he's probably told each of you, he was no saint.
Later, he got married and had two kids, Stephanie and Christopher. He worked in downtown Manhattan in the Financial district for many years. Later, Wallace remarried and found happiness with his wife, Tammy, and together they had their daughter, Krysta. Eventually, he left Brooklyn and made a new home in Kissimmee, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Maya and Delaney, who were the lights of his life.
Wallace was full of love, laughter, and an endless supply of jokes and stories that could light up any room. He never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to the faces of those around him.
During this difficult time, we are asking in place of flowers a gofundme contribution to help to cover the unexpected costs from the funeral expenses and unaccounted for medical bills. Wallace's illness and sudden passing and your contributions will help ease some of the stress during these times.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity as we remember Wally.
With gratitude,
