Support Community Guardian Angela Pruitt

Hello, I'm Arijit Sen, a professor at UWM. For the past decade, my students and I have been privileged to collaborate with the wonderful residents of Washington Park and Walnut Hill. Together, we've been inspired by incredible leaders and elders whom we fondly call Community Guardians.

Today, I'm reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. One of our most cherished guardians, Ms. Angela, has encountered a setback. She's been a beacon in her community, a mentor, historian, and tireless advocate. Her dedication has transformed Walnut Hill through projects like the Walnut Hill Community Garden and the Walnut Hill Orchard.

Recently, while selflessly assisting us with a community project, Ms. Angela faced a significant challenge. Last week, while she was helping us create a community asset map and vision, Ms. Angela's car got stolen from the local Salvation Army parking lot. This loss has deeply affected us all. Now, it's our turn to support the person who has given so much to others.

We are rallying together to help Ms. Angela secure funds for a new vehicle. Your contribution will not only ease her financial burden but also ensure she can continue nurturing the community spaces she has cultivated with such care.
