Support Wanita's Battle Against Cancer

Hi! I’m Davion, and I have chosen to start this GoFundMe with hopes of helping my mother, Wanita, with her upcoming medical and financial expenses.

On March 27, 2025, our small, close-knit family was rocked with some very devastating news that I still have not fully been able to digest or even wrap my head around. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 3, Grade 3 Metastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

To some, my mother is just a teacher, but to my kids, she is their Noni. Their biggest cheerleader, their muse, their Uber driver, their everything, and honestly, she has helped me a lot when it comes to being present in their lives, so I would just like to return that same love.

My mother, Wanita, has been an educator in both Louisiana and Texas for over 30 years, choosing to work with the kids others considered a nuisance. Growing up, I would always hear, “Ms. Washington is your mama?! She’s my favorite teacher!” And now my kids get to hear, “Ms. Washington is your grandma?” as she has been a teacher at Pine Tree Junior High since 2024.

This is definitely a trying time for my family, as my mom is my only surviving immediate family member aside from my children, and I just want to make sure that she is able to focus on her health and healing so she can watch all of her grandkids graduate. No gift is too small, even if it’s just a prayer, it will be greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed.
