Support Warrick Bidwell’s Rehabilitation
Donation protected
Hi my name is Amie Bidwell, and I’m doing what no wife should ever have to do, raising money to support my husband recovery from a serious accident.
“Send it for Waz”
On the 30/11/2024, our larger-than-life, husband, father, brother, friend and mentor, Warrick (Waz) had a serious medical incident during a mountain bike event at Maydena, Tasmania. Following outstanding on-trail critical care he was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The past week has been incredibly challenging, with Waz undergoing emergency surgeries and intensive care. Waz remains on life support in an induced coma in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
True to his character, he’s fighting hard, but the road ahead is uncertain. His chance of survival was less than 6% and we also know that “survival” is not the same as being able to function as he used to.
This has been a deeply emotional time for everyone, especially Waz’s wife, Amie, his 14 month old son Jack, daughter Grace (13yo), his mother and brother and countless friends and family around him who love and respect him deeply. While the full scope of what lies ahead is still unfolding, one thing is certain: no one should face this journey alone.
As friends, family, and fellow mountain bikers, we’re rallying to support Waz and his loved ones. Our goal is to provide them with the time and resources to focus on what matters most—each other and to have the resources to get Waz back to his vibrant, energetic and inspiring self in every way possible as soon as possible.
Funds raised will go directly to Warrick’s family to help with significant medical and rehabilitation costs during what will undoubtedly be a long and challenging journey.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference. Thank you for standing with Waz and his family during this time.
