Support Waylon's Journey to Stem Cell Therapy

Hi, we are Patrick & Ashley (Waylon's mama & dada) and we are fundraising for Stem Cell treatments. (Cord Blood Banking)

Waylon was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in DKA on July 5th, 2023. By far one of the worst days for us as parents.

Two Hospitals told us our son just had a stomach bug and to treat accordingly. When we finally made the decision to go to CHOP

Philadelphia, we knew within an hour that Waylon was a T1D. His sugars were over 1000 and could've died had we not followed our

instincts.

Since then, we as parents have learned so much about diabetes. What it entails, the ups and downs. (Literally LOL) and how to navigate

with a toddler with this disease. We have finally started becoming more comfortable with managing it and have a huge community surrounding us.

We are expecting another little boy in October 2024 and was approached by my doctor, whom had a similar situation within her family.

She suggests that we go ahead with Cord Blood Banking, as it has truly been a god send for her niece (Diagnosed the same age as Waylon)

Their family also had a baby around the same time frame as us. They followed through with Stem Cell Therapy from the Cord Blood Banking of the new baby in their family. It has since worked wonders and now her niece only needs insulin a few times a year, as the therapy has helped restore some of the pancreas functions that produce insulin. (Waylon's does NOT produce any currently) This has changed this little girl's life forever and we are hoping to be able to do the same for Waylon. This obviously like any procedure is not guaranteed or full proof. (So, we are taking necessary steps to ensure Waylon's safety through this process)

This process is very costly and since we would be utilizing the stem cells as soon as we can after delivery in October, the process requires immediate payment. We will be holding a Beef & Beer to help raise these funds as well as utilizing this GOFUNDME. I will be sharing and posting this as often as I can. Please share as well.

The Beef & Beer will be held on August 17th starting at 4pm-9pm at Ark Brewery in Lumberton NJ (Ark Brew Pub)

$40 a ticket -includes beer and food . Catered by Ark Brewery! BBQ Inspired

$10 for kids 7 & older

Kids under 7 eat free !

We will have a ton of baskets and prizes to be won. Activities for the kids (including a bounce house and activity table)

We will also have a local comedian starting at 7pm doing standup.
