Support Wayne Bennett and his Cancer Fight
A few weeks ago, I got a heartbreaking text from my dear friend, Jessica. If you know Jessica, you know that she is JUST ABOUT the kindest person around. She is a cheerleader to the max. She is magic in human form.
Her dad, Wayne, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. And that SUCKS. After dealing with stomach aches for a few weeks, testing showed the very worst case scenario.
Wayne is starting chemo treatments immediately to get as much time with is family as possible. Chemo is expensive, and a lot of costs aren't covered by insurance. His chemo costs are $327.09 a week, out of pocket, and we'd like to take care of as much of that cost as possible. Financial aid is available and is being applied for, but approval can take months, and bills are already piling up.
Jessica and her sister Cristal will also be spending a lot of time traveling back and forth to Tucson to be with and help care for Wayne. Gas is expensive. Food is expensive. Childcare for kids is expensive. And it's all stressful.
I know things are hard for so many right now, and money is tight. But if we all helped a little, we would, together, make this hard time a little less hard for people we love and care about.
If you'd like to contribute directly, Jessica's venmo and paypal are @jessicarmielke.
