Support Wendy Conley's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Christopher Conley, and I am fundraising for my mother Wendy Conley (Hockey mom, retired nurse, grandmother) had a stroke on July 9th, 2024. Wendy spent a little over a week at Upstate in the Neuro ICU. On July 17th, she was moved to Van Duyn nursing home for short-term PT. The hopes are she will be home before the end of July. With that being said, I would like to try to raise money to make her home life comfortable and easier for her to get around as the stroke has affected her walking and balance. We are very fortunate that she is able to speak and think fairly clearly. We hope to make both bathrooms more accessible to her in her current condition, as well as update her hot water tank (already purchased just needs installing) and put in new railings and handles.
*****Update***** 7/23/24 My mom is doing very good, she can speak, and her memory is coming back to her. Unfortunately, the stroke happened in part of the brain that controls walking. My mom will be needing PT in the coming weeks to relearn how to walk and write. She is currently up at Van Duyn nursing home for PT. The hopes and current plan is she should be ready to come home by the end of July god willing. We are currently making things around the house more accessible for her when she returns home. Thank you.
Wendy Conley is a retired LPN Nurse and spent her entire career as an ER nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. When she wasn't working, she was a dedicated hockey mom that even until this day shows with her unwavering dedication to her grandson who plays hockey. She was the loudest at the rink and most excited for each child playing, and we truly miss having her with us each weekend at the rink.
Any donation you can give will help my mother Wendy Conley enjoy her time at home and allow her to continue living with her husband Greg, and her loving family.
