Support Wes Stannard's Recovery Journey and Rebuild Moonwink

To the Moonwink community and all friends of Wes and May Stannard:

It’s been a rough month for the Moonwink family and we appreciate all those who continue supporting them despite their recent setback. It’s been six years since May, Wes, and their two young children opened Moonwink, a Burmese restaurant we have all come to know and love in the heart of Manchester. Moonwink has provided its patrons with culinary delights and also been a resource for those less fortunate to lean on during the pandemic and afterward.

In early June, Wes, who had developed an infection in his leg, was admitted to Bennington hospital and immediately airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital where he was intubated and treated for septic shock. After only two days at Dartmouth, the surgery team made the hard decision to amputate Wes’s leg above the knee in order to save his life.

With the support of family and friends May has been open for takeout on a limited basis, but with no employees, they are struggling to keep the business going while also taking care of their family and are working hard to think of ways to adapt their business plan for the future, so they can continue serving the community and also maintain their livelihood. As with any major medical catastrophic event, the medical bills are overwhelming. Wes is home now recovering, and in the future, Wes will need a prosthetic. While spirits are high, and doctors expect good results in the future, the Stannards need our support right now to get them through what has been a very trying few weeks and tide them over while they pull their life back together.
