Support Whitney in beating Cervical Cancer

Hi, I'm Kristen Rutherford and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my cousin Whitney McBride.

 

Whitney was diagnosed in mid November with Cervical Cancer. Right now we're told it's Stage 2 and are told that the tumor is about the size of a small orange. The tumor is currently pressing against her rectum, causing a good deal of constant back pain. She's got her PET scan scheduled and we're just waiting for that to better determine, and to officially verify, the exact size of the tumor and for it to hopefully tell us the cancer is still in a generalized location and hasn't spread any further to any other organs.

 

We're told she's got one of the best Oncologist Specialists there is, the downfall with that being that she is located in Dallas. Most of her appointments she will be traveling to Dallas to see her. (So part of the fund will be to help out with traveling and such.) Whitney will be going through radiation and chemo, as it's looking with the holidays and such it will probably be right at then new year when that starts. Good news there is that she's going to be able to do that here in Abilene. As we all know, chemo and radiation can leave one feeling pretty miserable, and more than likely she will be out of work during most of her treatments, if not some time after as well.

 

It's no secret that Whitney is one of the most caring people that I've ever known. She would give you the shirt off her back and then would go find you more when she didn't have anymore to give. She's a beyond loving and devoted mother, fiancé, sister, daughter, friend, etc. She's got a heart of gold, a loving and giving soul, and deserves nothing but the best in life. This is a difficult time for her and the family, and she's got a long road ahead of her. Besides regular everyday expenses, there are expenses such as travel to and from Dallas, medications, bills that just don’t stop, and others which are needed to help her focus her treatment and recovery. Any donation will be appreciated greatly beyond words. No amount is too small and every little bit helps.
