Support Will Gonzalez's Funeral Costs

Donation protected
On October 31st, 2019, when William Gonzalez was in 9th grade at Brookline High and a celebrated player on the Brookline High Football Team, he discovered a tumor on his leg which eventually led to a diagnosis of a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Over the last five years, Will has heroically fought through rounds of radiation, chemotherapy, and experimental trials. Sadly, he succumbed to the cancer on Thursday, October 31st, 2024 – exactly 5 years from his diagnosis. Will’s family is now in dire need of support to be able to cover funeral and burial costs. Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a big difference. This fundraiser is time-sensitive, so we urge you to consider donating immediately.

If you had the privilege of knowing Will, you know that he was an exceptional young man. Will grew up in the Egmont Apartment complex where he was a beloved brother to all and closely connected to the STEPS to Success Program. He attended the Florida Ruffin Ridley School, formerly the Devotion School, in Brookline for K-8 and then at Brookline High School where he graduated from the ACE Program. Wherever Will went, he won over everyone around him with his kindness and a smile that filled a room. He was wise beyond his years and was a model of maturity, emotional intelligence, and resiliency. In an autobiographical essay, Will wrote: “Battling cancer has taught me to never give up doing what you love and desire, and to cherish the time you have with your loved ones.” Will’s perseverance, determination and ability to prioritize his relationships with his loved ones throughout his battle with cancer was inspirational to everyone around him. Please help make it possible for Will’s family to provide a funeral and burial for him.

We graciously thank the Brookline Teen Center for collecting donations for Will's funeral services. All proceeds will be used for the funeral services, and any remaining proceeds will be donated to Will's family for support with living expenses.

Your donation is not tax deductible.
