In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are fundraising to help William & Mary dining workers impacted by the crisis. The funds will go directly to William & Mary hourly dining workers who are not compensated during this time and who need financial assistance with living expenses. All funds raised will be distributed equally among qualifying applicants who apply to receive funding.
I am one of many William and Mary students (class of 2020) that has been so grateful for the kindness and generosity of the William & Mary dining staff throughout my four years here. From the time I was a nervous freshman who was met with friendly smiles the first time I made my way through the Sadler Dining Hall, to this year, as a soon-to-be-graduate, who was so grateful for the support and encouragement of the dining staff at a time when my own future seemed so uncertain, I am so thankful for the relationships I was able to form with dining staff members. I know many of my fellow students have had similar experiences, and it is time to support the dining hall workers who form the backbone of our community.
William & Mary prides itself on its tight-knit community. Please help us support our fellow community members through this fund. Thank you so much to everyone who donates and shares!
--Zoe Le Menestrel, co-sponsored by Professor Francis Tanglao Aguas, Athena Benton, Olivia Vande Woude, and other W&M students
4/16/2020 Update: We are working with William and Mary Sodexo supervisors to ensure that all qualifying applicants have a chance to apply for funding, but in the meantime, if you are a William and Mary Sodexo worker who is no longer receiving pay or know of a William and Mary Sodexo worker who is no longer receiving pay, please email [email redacted] or call [phone redacted] so that we can connect them with the form to apply for funding.
