Support Will's Battle with Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Hello Friends, Family & Supporters,

Thank you for all the love and support you have shown Will and our Family over the last 7 months. We are truly grateful for the outpouring of love from all of you. And we know Will feels the same. Your actions and words of encouragement during Will’s Battle with Brain Cancer have inspired us during a really challenging period and left us with a level of appreciation for those involved in Will’s life that we will carry with us for a long time. We are fortunate.

As many of you know, Will was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma on September 26th and after a second operation on his brain in October, he was left partially paralyzed and only given a few weeks to live. Chemotherapy and radiation treatment were not on the table.

But Will is a fighter and fight he has. After a brutal Fall, Will pushed through the darkest moments and regained enough strength to start fighting the Cancer. He underwent his first rounds of radiation and chemo in December and has continued his chemotherapy treatments through today. He beat the odds making it to Christmas. He beat the odds making it to this Spring.

Will was strong enough to move home in January, where he lives with his fiancé, Lauren. Now we’re asking for your help so that Will can beat the odds again. Will is going to keep fighting as long as he can. Although a long shot, beating terminal brain cancer would undoubtedly be the most epic Will McColley story ever. It’s a future we’re working toward. We refuse to give up hope.

But we need help. As Will’s treatments continue to escalate, we’ve had to move to 24/7 in-home medical care and are exploring experimental cancer treatments. Will’s out-of-coverage medical costs are rising to $25k+ a month. Our family will continue to support Will in every way we can, including financially, but we need help covering this expense so we can give Will a fighting chance.

On top of the medical expenses, Lauren has been on leave from work since his diagnosis to be at Will’s side day and night. Her strength through this horrific experience is something we have come to admire greatly. We always knew Will would put up a fight. And now we know how strong of a fighter Lauren is too. The love she has shown our brother, through her daily actions and sacrifice, is something we are truly grateful for. She is going to continue her leave from work to continue to assist Will’s intensive recovery efforts.

On top of Will’s medical costs, your donation here will help provide Lauren with financial support during this life changing ordeal. It’s important to us to be there for Lauren as she has been there for our brother.

Thank you for all you’ve done to help Will and our Family and thank you for everything you’ll continue to do. Your support means something to us and to Will at the deepest levels. Your phone calls MATTER. Your visits to UPenn and Will’s home in Philly MATTER. The stories you’ve told us and each other about your favorite memories with our brother MATTER. And any amount of financial support you can provide will make a difference too. It all matters and it means something to us in ways we cannot fully articulate with words. We’re humbled and forever grateful.
