Support WindWalker Capt. Travis's Alaska family
On December 1st, 2024, my dear sister, Stephanie Two-Two, unexpectedly and tragically lost her life partner, Captin Travis Kapp. Travis owned and operated a commercial fishing vessel, F/V Wind Walker, a seine and long lining boat out of Sitka, AK, where they reside.
In the early morning hours, the Wind Walker capsized with all 5 members aboard. A mayday call was placed reporting the boat overturning, but the crew failed to respond to all follow-up attempts by the U.S. Coast Guard. The search went for nearly 24 hours and covered more than 108 square nautical miles in low-visibility and treacherous conditions. They were unable to locate or recover any of the 5 men. Travis and crew are considered missing persons.
Travis was a profound gem of a human. He had three passions in life; being a great father to Paige, his new blended family with Stephanie and her daughter Alice, and running a commercial fishing operation.
As many of us are, Travis and Steph have been struggling financially. With insanely low fish prices, increased operation cost combined with high insurance premiums, this year was exceptionally bad. The ONLY reason Travis was fishing so late in the season was to provide for his family.
Stephanie and Alice deeply appreciated any donation.
