Women Building Women In Need

A community service initiative targeting the poverty-stricken and homeless female community in Detroit. 100% donation based, we strive to close the gap in the growing number of women experiencing a lack of daily self-care and living essentials due to financial hardship. Though there are shelters around the city, there is often a shortage of space and/or resources. In 2022, The Homeless Action Network of Detroit provided a snapshot of the number of people experiencing homelessness in the community on a single night. Among that count included 223 single women, which was a 31% increase from January 2021. Women Building Women In Need will set up stations around the Downtown Detroit area to provide first-hand assistance to that growing number. We accept physical and monetary donations that will aid in our initiative.
