Support Workers Losing Wages From Cafe Fire

Hi my name is Dylan Schenker and I am a barista at Greenstreet Cafe in West Philadelphia / University City. Recently, an apartment fire spread down to the cafe below it causing severe damage and forcing us to close for an indeterminate amount of time. Since we all rely upon the money we make working there a closure of this kind is a major blow to our ability to support ourselves. So if you can find it in your heart to help us through what will surely be a difficult time we would greatly appreciate it.

 

The sooner we can get through this the faster we can get to back to making your favorite drinks, the best breakfast sandwiches and all the in-house baked goods and OkieDokie donuts you can eat. We've only been open for a little under a year and we are so grateful to all our regulars and everyone else who have made our tenure thus far such a wonderful, welcoming experience. We appreciate all of you and the support you have shown us this past year. We are nothing if not resilient and we promise you we're prepared to get through this.
