Support Xander's Recovery After Tragic Accident

Donation protected
Please donate to help with costs associated with my son Xander's motorcycle accident, which left him in the ICU at RI Hosp on 11/6/2024. An impatient driver crossed two lanes of travel and came to an abrupt and complete stop, blocking his lane of travel and leaving him nowhere to go. He tried to stop but broadsided her car and was catapulted through the air, landing headfirst on the ground, shattering most of his facial bones. The impact was so great that it literally blew his helmet apart into several individual pieces. By the time his body came to a stop, the only thing left of his helmet was the collar piece that holds the lining inside the helmet; the rest was broken apart from the several impacts his head took throughout this ordeal. He is only 21 years old and has already suffered several strokes in his brain, swelling of his heart, fluid accumulation in his chest cavity, and the bones in his left hand were shattered, requiring multi-hour reconstructive surgical intervention. Xander makes his living as a mechanic, so this will undoubtedly have lasting ramifications going forward with life. Xander has high-functioning autism that he has learned to cope with and adversity he's overcome. Last April, we lost my husband of 28 years, Xander and his younger brother Noah's father, mentor, and best friend, to an unexpected stroke he suffered in his sleep. As a result, we also lost our home of 19 years due to financial issues. Our family has had a tremendously difficult year and is really in dire need of your help in any capacity. Please consider donating and helping Xander start his long journey back to health. His motorcycle was totaled as a result, but his helmet undoubtedly saved his life, though it should never have come apart in the manner it did. Due to that failure, his face suffered very traumatic injuries and will require many future surgeries to stabilize and repair the broken bones and skull fractures. Xander just turned 21 last month, and his health insurance coverage ended seven days prior to this accident. Donations will help offset the quickly increasing medical costs we're facing.
