Support Yancarlos Jimenez's Fight for Life

Hey everyone! I’m setting this up for my amazing brother, Yancarlos Jimenez—known to many of you as Flacko. He is only 30 years old and was living a healthy, normal life with no prior medical conditions. But on July 1st, everything changed. He began experiencing severe stomach pain and a high fever, and I urged him to go to the hospital. What we thought would be a hospital visit turned into a nightmare, as one complication after another arose.

Yancarlos developed blood clots, and a kidney artery aneurysm.Throughout his time at Mount Sinai, he was given countless medications and underwent constant bloodwork, which became overwhelming especially when some of his blood samples were frequently lost. Frustrated and desperate for better care, Yancarlos decided to transfer himself to NYU Hospital on July 13th.

On the morning of July 14th, Yancarlos mentioned having a headache and was only given Tylenol. A short while later, he became unresponsive. When I rushed to his side, I found him with his IV ripped out and unresponsive, but the nurses insisted he was simply resting or suffering from mental fatigue. For six long hours, they failed to recognize the severity of his condition. By the time they realized he had suffered a stroke, it was too late. He was rushed into emergency surgery, which lasted 5 to 6 hours, to relieve the bleeding and swelling in his brain. Unfortunately, his condition worsened, and he had to undergo a second surgery immediately after due to excessive bleeding. The doctors informed us that Yancarlos had fallen into a coma, and the cause of his sudden health crisis remains a mystery.

Despite everything, Yancarlos continues to fight. He has endured multiple surgeries, experienced complications from some of the strong meds that he’s on, and continues to receive critical care. He has shown signs of progress and we have faith that he will wake up. God works miracles and everything is possible through Him.

My mother and I are asking for help during this heartbreaking time. Yancarlos is fighting with everything he has, but the financial burden of his mounting medical expenses, therapy, and ongoing care is immense. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing his story, or keeping him in your thoughts and prayers—will make a world of difference as we continue to stand by his side in this battle for his life.

Yancarlos is a son, brother, nephew, and friend who has touched the lives of so many. He has a deep passion for modeling and fashion, finding joy in expressing his creativity. It’s unimaginable how life can change in an instant—one moment you're fine, and the next, you're fighting for your life while doctors search for answers. The fear my brother must have felt during this ordeal is heartbreaking to comprehend.
