Support Yancey and Mitchell Counties Flood Relief

We are raising funds to support our family and friends affected in Yancey and Mitchell counties. Your donations will go directly towards purchasing essential supplies like food, water, medical supplies, and emergency relief materials. Charity Honeycutt, Carol Tyner, and Travis Kirkman will be personally delivering these supplies to the area soon, ensuring that they reach those in need. Update (9/30 10am): The first round of supplies is being delivered today from Knoxville and Charlotte, with drop-offs planned at Birdfoot, MHHS, and likely Town Square. Trucks of water, gatorade, gas and some food. If you’re located in Charlotte, you can drop off any donated items at Criswell & Criswell by end of day Wednesday and Carol can transport later this week. Urgent Needs: Medical supplies (pain relievers, bandages, tourniquets, eyedrops, iodine, slings, pedialyte) Emergency resources (cots, blankets, batteries, flashlights, walkie talkies, gas cans, gas, propane) Hygiene/Toiletries (including menstruation products) Clothing (underwear, socks, shoes - all sizes/ages/genders) Food (non-perishables, things you don’t have to heat up, utensils, cups, manual can openers) This GoFundMe is organized by Taylor Banks Kirkman, Charity Honeycutt, Carol Tyner, Morgan Peterson Bryant, Lilly Hughes Humen, and Laney Tipton. We all grew up in Western NC, and many of our families still live there. We are working directly with local contacts to make sure all donations are used effectively. We will be tracking and sharing receipts so you know your donations were used to help those in need. If you are aware of specific needs in the community, please share them here. While we can't fulfill all requests or handle personal requests, we will do our best to get help where it's needed most.
