Mountain Strong: Yancey and Mitchell County Relief Team

We are raising funds to support our family, friends and community members that were affected by Hurricane Helene in Yancey and Mitchell counties. Your donations will go directly towards purchasing essential supplies like food, water, medical supplies, and emergency relief materials. Currently we have purchased truckloads of generators, cold weather supplies, medical supplies that have been used at the temporary field hospital, food and water, baby supplies, cleaning supplies, solar power units, lanterns and many more items.

This GoFundMe is organized by Taylor Banks Kirkman, Charity Honeycutt, Carol Tyner, Morgan Peterson Bryant, Lilly Hughes Humen, Kacie Renfro and Laney Tipton. We all grew up in Western NC, and many of our families still live there. We are working directly in the area to make supply runs and get people who have been displaced equipment they need in order to get back to any sense of normalcy. We will be tracking our donations and efforts and sharing pictures/updates so you know your donations were used to help those in need. If there is any concern we have continued to keep receipts and have bought supplies from local community friends and family that can also vouch for where the money is being used. We have also acquired a 501c3 status for "Mountain Strong" in order to continue assisting the communities for years to come.

If you are aware of specific needs in the community, please share them here. While we can't fulfill all requests or handle personal requests, we will do our best to get help where it's needed most.
