We are raising funds for Yanni Thomas, the courageous teacher’s assistant who risked everything to protect our children. Yanni bravely exposed the disturbing behavior she had witnessed at Lil’ Explorers Childcare Center in Plymouth, MN. After previously reporting these incidents to the director with no action taken, she made the difficult decision to record the events on her last day to bring the truth to light. Her recordings revealed horrifying incidents of children as young as 2 and 3 years old being screamed at, grabbed, and even slammed into chairs. Her actions have led to a police and DHS investigation and have raised critical awareness of the need for safer childcare environments.
Yanni is the hero in our children’s story, and now we have the chance to change hers. Her dream has always been to open her own daycare—a place where children feel safe, loved, and nurtured. Someone like Yanni, who put the well-being of our kids above her own livelihood, is exactly the kind of person we all want caring for our children.
