Support Yisidro's Recovery After Tragic Shooting

Donation protected
Yisidro Greene is a senior in high school who has a lot of goals, dreams, and aspirations. He plays football and baseball and has been actively doing the work necessary to enlist in the military. He is a sweet soul who is the youngest sibling out of 4 girls and is loud and proud about his love for cats.

As of a few days ago, he was trying his best to get out of a home that was filled with people who are dependent on drugs and involved in dangerous activities.

His wants in life for himself drove him to make the decision that staying in that home would no longer serve him, so he made the decision to move.

With some of his belongings ready, on October 10th, he started his journey to his new home in Lincoln City.

Robert Smith, aka ‘Bobby’ (Yisidro's grandpa), and grandpa’s friend, Mona, decided to be the ones to take Yisidro on this trip from Warm Springs all the way to Lincoln City. What nobody in the vehicle knew was that the vehicle they were in was a target.

Desirae Smith, the mother of Yisidro and owner of the vehicle, was involved in some criminal activity (still ongoing) and because of that, some dangerous people were looking out for her.

On the highway, about a mile from Government Camp, they were merging from a double lane into a single lane, and a car in front of them came to a full stop.

They made the attempt to go around the car, but an individual exited the driver's side and started to shoot at the truck that Yisidro, Bobby, and Mona were in.

The truck was shot about 3-4 times, with one of the bullets striking Yisidro. Because of the injury from this situation, Yisidro was life-flighted to Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

The injury he got from this bullet was terrible.

The bullet went into his arm and traveled all the way into his chest, lodging itself right against the aorta, the biggest artery in the human body. He was lucky to have it stop where it did because if it went a hair further, it would have caused irreversible damage to his aorta, causing him to bleed out and die on the spot.

He is now still currently in the hospital, coherent and well.

There are talks about removing the bullet, but because of the proximity to two major arteries, the head surgeon is reaching out to other professionals to get opinions.

It’s been a long few days and the funds for transportation, food, accommodation, and future medical bills are adding up quickly. If you have any way to help fund our family in this difficult time, we would all be very grateful. If you’re not able to donate, all I ask is for some prayers to be made on his behalf.
