Every legendary journey begins with the first step.
This year only two Australians have been selected to join the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) and Hannah Cleary is one of those preparing to begin a very different life starting next year.
Accepted as an Honours student by the prestigious AADA, Hannah is set to make the move to LA in 2020. She’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of big names like Anne Hathaway, Kim Cattrall, Robert Redford, Danny Devito, Paul Rudd and Jessica Chastain.
AADA is the english speaking world’s oldest and one of the most prestigious acting academies where it’s alumni have been nominated for 101 Oscars, 307 Emmy and 94 Toni awards.
Thousands of teenagers hit upon acting as their career of choice but what sets Hannah apart is perseverance and natural talent. She’s overcome multiple obstacles to get to this point and she intends to make this opportunity count.
Being successful as an actor is more for Hannah than just a shot at fame and the lure of dazzling dollars. She knows perseverance, determination, commitment and hard work are essential to succeed and she has that is spades. However, Hannah believes a true test of her success will be when she has the influence to help others, particularly women, and to make a difference in the lives of the next generations of young actors aiming to create a future in the arts.
The remainder of 2019 will see Hannah continue her studies at New York Film Academy on the Gold Coast. She fills her days with study and auditions and her nights with acting gigs and part-time work.
She’s determined that this opportunity will yield results and is doing everything she can to raise the money she’ll need to pursue her studies whilst living in the States.
“I always loved the bright lights of acting, singing and dancing but above that I have always been drawn to people. It fascinates me to see the way different humans function based on their different experiences and acting allows me to step into another persons shoes and see life from a completely different perspective. Attending AADA and going on to make a career in the performing arts not only fulfils my dreams, but it opens up so many opportunities to make a real difference in the world and individual’s lives”
It’s a name to remember – Hannah Cleary. She’s a force to be reckoned with, a spirited fighter and someone who’s ready to make a difference. She just needs support behind her and we can expect big things.
This is your opportunity to support young Australian talent aiming for the stars and when she gets there you can say you played a part in it. Hannah’s supporters will received bi-annual news-letters from LA, access to her private facebook page where she will share tales from back stage and invitations to her events.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of tuition fees and living expenses by 1 November 2019.
