Support for “Amor”

***warning***there are statements (marked with ***)below that seemed factual with the information that was available and allowed to be discussed at the time of writing. It has since been deemed inaccurate by VPD after reviewing medical testing and video footage which Amor has yet to review. Throughout this whole ordeal, no statement was made with the intent to deceive anyone. I take accountability for jumping on the initial wave of shock and horror and posting that we “knew” something when it would have been much more accurate to say “we think”. Lesson learned. The investigation may be complete for VPD but we are still left with unanswered questions and will continue to request transparency from investigating parties.

Greetings Community. If you are reading this you have heard of the horrific incident that occured over the first weekend of November 2023 in East Vancouver. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, details that can be shared are limited but that won't stop us from showing our out of town guest how we can love and support her.

At this time, her name cannot be shared so we will call her "Amor" which means love in Spanish. When we speak this name we will send her so much love.

Amor was at the Princeton Pub with a group of friends and when they noticed she was missing from the group a staff member of the pub said she had left in a taxi with someone. Hours later she was found having been brutally assaulted. Her injuries are extensive and she will require a considerable amount of time to heal physically and emotionally. She will also require extensive dental care as she lost 3 teeth in the assault.

More details may be shared as they come available. In the meanwhile, ***what we know is a predator that is still not in custody thought they could find a POC woman in East Van and treat her as if she was unprotected and disposable.***THIS MUST STOP!

We are going to rally together, protect all our sisters and show them that she, and all the members of our community are important, loved and supported. Stay vigilant. Stand together now in Amor's name to show predators that East Van will protect its loved ones.
