Transplant Recovery Funds
Donation protected
Happy Holidays! First I’d like to thank all of you whom have donated to us and have support led us though our transplant journey. We appreciate it so much. Now that we are home I am in need of your support still being that I am still not able to return to work and I do not qualify for unemployment benefits. I have about 4 weeks left under restrictions before light work duty is considered. I need the help to get through monthly bills so that I can continue to recover in peace with my girls. So please keep sharing. Thank you again!
Update: 12/03/2020
Mom and I went through the transplant surgery. We are recovering well. After my appointment today I was cleared to go home. Mom on the other hand still needs to stay a few more weeks. She’s staying at the transplant recovery center which is costing us $840 a week. With a few more weeks of stay we have basically exhausted our funds. We need help for a few more weeks stay for my mom. Also to help resolve some bills we have occurred through this process. We are grateful for all the donations we have received so far. Thank you.
Back Story.
Who would’ve thought I’d ever be able to save a life especially a love one. At 32 years old i am as healthy as can be and i have made a huge decision to become a living liver donor. My mother Helen Ramone is the recipient. She suffers from NASH cirrhosis and has a calculated MELD score of 17 which doesn’t qualify her a cadaver donor. So I have met with my transplant team and they have determined that i have no contraindications to me moving ahead with the live-liver donor process. I do have a normal liver function test and my BMI meets criteria for a pre- donation liver biopsy. I have completed the biopsy and results were normal therefore can continue on with donating. My life will change on November 9th, 2020. That’s the date they have set for us to have the surgery. All donations received will be used to replace loss of wages and also for my moms cost of living during her recovery period. It’s hard enough that i have to ask my fellow being for assistance and donations because i usually am the person that helps others and i make sure they are well. This time around in life I’m sincerely asking for your help. Of course anything helps no matter how little or big. I bless you all and ask that you keep my mom Helen my family and I in your prayers. Positive results and a healthy speedy recovery. I love my mom and of course I’d do anything to have her around a little longer than she would without this transplant. Again anything helps.
