Support Youth Boxing during Fiesta Boricua

On behalf of my Foundation, The Fres Oquendo Foundation I want to invite you to help me sponsor a very important boxing-focused event for the youth of our community. During the celebration of the 30th Fiesta Boricua- De Bandera a Bandera- one of the midwest's largest Latino festivals I, and Luis Mateo, have been asked to organize a street-level pavilion honoring Puerto Rican boxers as well as to host a series of boxing activities for our community youth with a boxing ring, prizes, and recognitions.

I am elated at the prospect of celebrating our Puerto Rican heritage of boxing. I want a new generation of Puerto Rican youth, as well as other marginalized youth to experience boxing as a sport that brings out the best of our human qualities; solidarity, compassion, discipline, punctuality, and overall best practices for ethical behavior. The event will take place outside 2425 W. Division Street on September 2nd & 3rd.
