Support Zachary Harakas' Recovery Journey

Donation protected
On July 3rd, Zachary Harakas, a local Kansas City business owner whose cleaning company, Sparkle A-Z, services Waldo and Westport businesses, was bitten by a spider while sitting outside on the patio. Unbeknownst to anyone, this spider bite allowed an opening for Necrotizing Fasciitis Bacteria, aka flesh eating bacteria, to enter his body. Over the next few days, Zachary, who believed he was suffering, ill effects from the spider bite, experienced fever, swelling, and pain. Zachary was taken into emergency surgery on July 8th. The surgeon had to remove a large portion of tissue and muscle from Zachary's leg and hip. They said had he not come in that day, he would not have survived the night. Zachary remained in ICU until July 11th. Zachary is now on the surgery/ wound care unit. He has had a wound vac placed and has to return to the operating room every 2 days to have it cleaned and a new pad placed. Zachary will be in the hospital and out of work for weeks, possibly months, and will require plastic surgery to completely close the wound later down the road. This is life altering. Zachary has no income at this time and has 3 children to support. He is incredibly kind and compassionate, and would help anyone in need and a dedicated father. Any help is appreciated.

His medical care is ongoing and changes day to day, so the exact cost of his care is unknown at this time.
