Support Zachery McKinnon's Road to Recovery

Dear family and friends.

On Monday May 7th, at approximately 12:15am, our beloved Zachery McKinnon went into cardiac arrest and suffered a heart attack at just 32 years old. Together, with the help from his parents, Mike and Rhonda McKinnon and his fiancé, time was of the essence. Upon arrival, paramedics were able to revive Zach twice, which we are very thankful for, considering we almost lost him.

Zach was in a sedated coma for three days in the ICU at Intermountain Medical Hospital. Zachery had heart surgery on May 15th for placement of a heart defibrillator/pacemaker device, which will help prevent this type of emergency from happening in his future.

With further updates and clinical testing, physicians are leaning more towards Genetics.

Zach’s discharge diagnosis was

Cardiac arrest

Ventricular fibrillation

Acute HFrEF

Acute respiratory failure with hypoxemia

Prolonged QT syndrome

Aspiration pneumonitis

Bradycardia

Tachycardia

Anoxic Encephalopathy..

The McKinnon family would like to thank everyone who prayed and reached out during this difficult time, as they do their best to keep moving forward and adjust to the road ahead of recovery.

We all know how Zach is a fighter, he is strong and full of life. A hard working son for the family lawn-care business, a loyal friend and fiancé, a father, the main provider to four beautiful children. (Youngest 8 weeks old)
