Support Zella's Eye Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Aloha, my name is Evonne and I'm the grandmother of Zella, this sweet 3 year old girl who had an eye injury. She needed emergency eye surgery due to an accident which resulted in a piece of glass going into her eye. The emergency surgery took place at Children's Hospital, nearly two hours away from home. The specialists performed surgery the evening of the accident, which required 7 stitches in her eye. After the surgery she required eye drops administered 4 times per day, by mom or dad. She will continue to need medical care and check ups in the coming months. The drive to the Children's Hospital in Seattle for each visit is about 90 minutes to 2 hours each way, depending on traffic. The money will go toward helping cover costs of gas, food and possible overnight stays in the Seattle area for doctor appointments and possibly more eye surgeries. The money will also cover time off of work for mom and dad. My daughter Alesha has cut back her work hours to weekends only so she can stay home and care for Zella and make sure she's getting eye drops 4 times a day and that Zella gets plenty of rest and doesn't strain or injure the eye further.
The stitches won't come out of Zella's eye for another 5 to 6 weeks. So it is imperative Alesha receives support to stay home with Zella and watch her closely. We appreciate the outpouring of love, support and prayers. Thank you everyone for supporting the healing of Zella's eye. We will use the funds for day to day support, medicine for Zella's eye, medical bills, and travel expenses and from the hospital.
