Support Arts in Medicine in Florida

Greetings Everyone!
My name is Jamilla Webb. I'm a Public Health Nurse & doula based in New Orleans. I created this GoFundMe page on behalf of my amazing friend Kunle Adewale. Kunle is a visual artist based in Nigeria who has touched 1000's of lives with this amazing work in Art Therapy. He has been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the University of Florida this summer for a Arts In Medicine internship. Please read his story below & consider supporting his mission & dream. We appreciate your consideration.

Hello Friends,
I am Kunle Adewale, Founder and Creative Art Director of Tender Arts Nigeria, a non-profit organization that uses art therapy to improve the life and health outcomes of children & young people.
As a visual artist, I am driven by passion to serve humanity with my highest potential. Over the years I have used Art as a form of therapy for Children & young Adults living with Cancer, Sickle Cell Disease, Autism & Child survivors of Boko haram terror attacks in Nigeria. My creative engagement has benefited over 15,000 people in 4 years in Nigeria.
I’m using art to bridge the huge gap that exists between healthcare professionals & their patients. The intention of my Art Therapy led initiative is to create a platform where health professionals & artists collaborate in transforming the hospital/healthcare center experience for their clients through creative engagement.
After taking note of my work, the Directors of Arts in Medicine, University Of Florida, College of Arts have invited me to be part of their 2017 Summer Program. I would learn best practices of Arts in Medicine from a global perspective & be able to apply it to my professional work in Nigeria.
In the words of Mother Teresa: “I alone cannot change the world but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples. “
Dear friends, I solicit your support for my trip to Florida for the Arts in Medicine program. All funds will be used to cover my travel (abroad & transit to & fro in the community).
For more information on my Invitation to Florida, kindly contact: Jill Sonke, Director, Center for Arts in Medicine, University of Florida [phone redacted] or email [email redacted]
