On September 11, Stan suffered a massive heart attack. It is with sad news that on October 22 & 23, Stan suffered a series of 2 heart attacks. He did not survive the last attack.

Desert Rose Productions, his production company was dedicated to producing documentaries on bringing to life the realities of African Americans living on the Westside, the segregated section of Las Vegas, Nevada from the 1950’s to 1980’s. He was also committed to telling the stories of the indigenous people, the Paiute Nation, the original caretakers of the land in parts of Nevada and Utah. He also produced a documentary on enslaved African-American soldiers fighting during the Civil War.

Prior to his illness, he was working on producing a book dedicated to commemorating historic photographs of West Las Vegas, plus he was working on a documentary on the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, which will be his final resting place. Due to his illness, he could not continue working on projects. As you can imagine, he incurred bills during his illness. Any assistance to helping the surviving members of his family to pay off his expenses and to support the continuation of his work is be appreciated.
