Support George Dempsey and Family

Hi, my name is Wendy and I'm George's sister. I’ve started this GoFundMe account because my brother George is fighting for his life and he and his family need your help.
Over these past Christmas holidays George was in terrible, excruciating back pain that was getting progressively worse. After much prodding he went to the ER. If you know George, he thought he could tough it out and it would get better. It didn’t. After 3 visits to the hospital (they kept discharging him) my lovely brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. And I’m a deeply saddened to say it is in late stages.
We are in a tail spin for all obvious reasons.
This is a hard working family, but like so many they live paycheque to paycheque, doing their best to make ends meet. With George’s illness, they will be reduced to 1 income. George works hard; seasonal, outdoor, physical work with long hours. When work is available he’s right there, doing whatever it takes. Debbie, George’s wife works in the bakery in the local grocery store and has been there many years. Debbie has taken all her vacation time to care for George in these early days of diagnosis but will have to go back to work soon and taking an unpaid leave is out of the question. Robert, my nephew and their 13 year old son is being strong and brave. Deborah, my niece and George’s step daughter is heartbroken at her dad’s condition and can’t imagine a world without him.
Anyone that knows George, knows that he is the kindest and most selfless person they have ever met. He has helped so many people and would give you the shirt off his back and he has never asked for anything in return. But, his family needs your help now.
The last thing anyone should have to worry about, when they’re fighting to survive, is how they will pay their bills and provide for their family.
If you know George and family, or you’re a kind person that wants to help, please consider donating now to George’s Family fund. Money raised will go toward rent, utility bills, food, some assistive devices that aren’t covered and anything the family needs during this terrible time.
George is surrounded by family and friends and we are very grateful for the love and support from everyone.
I will provide updates on George’s condition as I receive them.
With much love and gratitude,
Wendy
