Support for Baby Parker & Nellis Family
Donation protected
If you're here, it means that you're most likely a relative, friend, or know of the Nellis family.
Meghanne & Ryland are currently living a parent's worst nightmare - with their youngest baby Parker having an extended stay in the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton - 5 hours from home.
Little Parker Ty is the newest member of the Nellis family at two months old. After a small stint with jaundice, he had further testing which led to them being flown to Edmonton for the best care. We now know that this is because he has a congenital condition, called Biliary Atresia - where there is a blockage in the ducts that carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder.
Due to this condition, he will undergo the Kasai procedure. During this surgery they will remove the gallbladder and bile ducts, and attach a piece of the intestine to the liver creating a new passage for the liver to drain properly.
If the Kasai procedure is successful, he may not need a liver transplant until adulthood. However, if not successful he will likely need a transplant as early as 9 months old. Regardless of this early surgery, at some point Parker will be a candidate for liver transplant.
In the meantime, it is expected that Meghanne and Parker will remain in Edmonton while Ryland and Jackson stay at home in Grande Prairie. This has been established to keep Parker safe, ensuring the least amount of contact for germs while he is in the hospital. As one can expect, this has put a strain on them as a family - both emotionally, and financially.

As a close friend of this young family, I am raising funds to help relieve the financial pressures that the Nellis' will face in the coming weeks/months. With the financial pressures relieved, this allows them to focus on what matters - being there for their newest family member.
Funds will be distributed directly to Meghanne & Ryland to recoup some of the travel & temporary living expenses that have amounted on top of their day-to-day living expenses.
I extend my gratitude on behalf of Meghanne & Ryland if you choose to donate & share. Any donations are forever appreciated by this young family, and we thank you in advance!
