Gaige's Medical Fund

This is for our son who went in to have he's thyroid removed from he's neck because it was cutting off he's airway. After the doctor went in to remove the thyroid they found a large mass behind the thyroid. The doctor came out of the surgery room to tell us what they found, the doctor wanted to know what we wanted to do! Well unclear what the right move was to make. We decided to do a  debulking of the mass to give him comfort and to allow him to breath free on he's own and to give us time to find out what type of cancer he had and what is the right  action to take with it. We where told he would have 3 to 6 weeks before we would have to make a choice on what to do. They can't cut out the mass because it's woven into he's neck muscles and wrapped around he's  veins.  Well after only two days later the mass started growing back and faster then ever! He started having trouble breathing again. This is now day 7 in ICU, the doctors made a choice to do a pet scan and to start chemo ASAP. Within 12 hours the mass started to shrink. He's breathing was free and clear of obstruction. After the 12 hours they moved him to PCU   Where he is right now.

 We do have Insurance but the co-pays are more then we know what to do with.  Plus he has to do chemo treatments and each one of those visits there's a co-pay. We are hard working parents who have helped other without ever asking for anything in return. We are now asking anyone who can help in anyway that would help us greatly.  Our son has run and walked more then he's far share of cancer walks and now he has cancer.  He's a great kid and I don't say this because he's our kid. We say that because everyone who meets him say that.
