*Town of Greenburgh Supervisor's Office is posting this on behalf of a local family. The money raised will go directly to them and reimburse the father for the money he spent replacing a stolen catalytic converter on the car he needs to use to earn a living. We have removed some names from this personal account; please consider donating to help this family this season!* Happy Holidays and THANK YOU!
"My name is Amjad and I am a loyal citizen. I have never done anything wrong in my life, but life has been treating me so bad.
My family consists of me, my wife [__], and two disabled kids. One Kid [__] is a 6-year-old boy with genetic syndrome called “1p36 deletion syndrome” which has caused him to suffer from severe developmental delays with medical, mental, and behavioral problems. He suffers from all medical problems you can think of such as seizure, hearing and visual problems, Autism, feeding tube, can’t talk or understand or express his needs…. The other kid is [__] is a 5-year-old girl who suffers from Autism. With these two kids my life has changed 180 degrees.
After I was seeking a prestigious career, I ended up taking care of these two kids who consume all my time. I barely can work on Uber now because of the amount of care they need. Yesterday, my car’s catalytic converter was stolen. It is a 2008 Toyota Prius, and I did not have comprehensive insurance, so I had to pay $3,000 to the mechanic shop to get it done. It’s the only car I have, and I am totally dependent on it, and I never thought such a thing would ever happen to me. I made a police report at Greenburgh Police Department, Westchester County. Case# ____.
I am asking to help me financially, because I really live on the edge, and I work hard, and I am exhausted to keep my family safe and fed. So, I need as much financial help as I can get, but at least, I am asking for the $3,000 I paid for the car theft, as I feel this is the government responsibility to keep the citizens safe. I have the receipt from the mechanic shop if you require it and I already mentioned the case # above.
Please help me and help my poor family,
Thank you!"
