Supporting a Hero's unborn child and family
Donation protected
On Friday, October 1, 2021 Nassir Day was working his job as a security officer at an office building in Philadelphia when an individual armed with several homemade weapons entered the lobby of the building and was confronted by Nassir. During the altercation Nassir was shot once in the head and died shortly after. His interaction allowed for a delay that prevented the suspect from harming anyone else in the building as that delay allowed them to seek cover and safety.
The suspect had posted several videos that morning online indicating his desire to commit a mass shooting that morning and to die in the process. The suspect was cornered on the third floor of the office building by Philadelphia Police and immediately surrendered. Philadelphia Police cite the direct intervention of Nassir in preventing anyone else from being injured or worse during this incident.
Nassir has been described by everyone who knew him as professional, courteous, dedicated and lovable. He loved his job and the people he was tasked with protecting and on October 1, 2021 he gave his life to protect all of them.
Nassir's girlfriend is currently several months pregnant with their first child and all money raised will go toward the unborn child and his family. All funeral arrangements have been covered and paid for.
Please consider donating what you can for this hero's family and his unborn child as they start navigating a life without him. RIP Nassir.
