Sacha Hamilton Mirror Fund
Donation protected
We are currently raising funds to upgrade the mirrors in our outdoor ménage. Unfortunately, over the years the frame that supports the mirrors has rotted and the mirrors have been removed for safety reasons. Sadly, during refurbishment, one of the mirrors shattered and has had to be completely replaced. The cost of the refurbishment and the replacement of the mirrors is costing about 4k.
Due to the current financial crisis we find ourselves unable to fund this project and ask for your kind donations, no matter how big or small, to pay towards out project.
The large mirrors provide a vital training aid for the rider, the instructor and ultimately, the horse. Sacha provides excellent training for riders and horses of all abilities and ages. She has progressed her own and others' horses from basic dressage to Olympic and international dressage levels. Sacha has also supported top Para dressage rider Natasha Baker to attain double gold medal achievements in the 2012 London Olympics. Therefore, your donations would be used to support able bodied and Para riders to achieve their ultimate goals.
Mirrors make a rider more independent and able the rider to work on his/her own. The rider can look in the mirror, match what he/she sees in the mirror to what he feels on the horse, and learn from that, to either adjust what he’s doing or assure him/herself that he’s doing something correctly.
Top Olympic dressage riders say that 'Mirrors are an incredibly useful training aid, arena mirrors give you immediate feedback on your riding, boosting your confidence and improving your horse’s way of going. Most riders would love to have a trainer with them each time they ride, but realistically this isn’t possible'.
In addition, when having the beauty of having such a fantastic and experienced trainer on hand such as Sacha, riders can improve their own and their horse's performance hence increasing opportunities to climb the equine competition ladder.
