I am writing to share a heartfelt and urgent situation regarding my sister, Ale, who as some of you may know is expecting twins. We took the time to share this news because there have been multiple medical issues with this pregnancy. Unfortunately, she has received devastating news from her doctors that one of the babies is not going to survive and the stronger baby will only have the best chance of survival with immediate medical intervention.

As you can imagine, this news has left our family devastated and overwhelmed with worry for both my sister's well-being and the health of her unborn children. The recommended medical procedure to save the remaining baby is complex and comes with significant financial implications. The cost of the procedure, ongoing medical care, and support for my sister's recovery are substantial, and we find ourselves in a position where we are seeking assistance from our community.

We are also faced with the terrible news that this life-saving procedure is not able to be performed in Texas due to the ongoing legislative battles regarding women's health that our state is facing. This is adding unnecessary stress to an already sensitive and overwhelming circumstance. So, my sister will need to travel to Minnesota to give her baby the highest probability of survival.
