Supporting Aiden Mendoza's future

Donation protected
Hello, for those that do not know me, I am Kelsey Reyes, Aiden's previous foster sister. My parents, Ana Gutierrez and Juan Gutierrez looked after and cared for Aiden in our home between the years of 2007 and 2009. Aiden is a special needs child who was born with a condition called Noonan Syndrome, a growth hormone deficiency that can not only affect the stature of a child but also cause a congenital heart defect and even developmental delays. So just for those that have never met my brother Aiden, he is currently 17 years old but developmentally he is much younger. Yet he is still a bright and charismatic minor loved by so many.

Aiden has just lost his loving biological father, Virgilio Mendoza on Monday, December 27th to Covid. Virgilio and Aiden lived alone together. Those that knew Virgilio or Mr. Mendoza, as we knew him, know he was a loving father who took very great care of his son Aiden. Over the years, Mr. Mendoza and Aiden kept in contact with us and Aiden was able to maintain his relationship with us and my mother, his "Mom". Just as Mr. Mendoza was entrusted to care for his son, Mr. Mendoza has entrusted that my mother, Ana Gutierrez, regain custody.

Although we are deeply saddened of the circumstances, without hesitation we are happy to provide Aiden with a home, happiness, love, and once again family. And any needs we can provide him with. I have been asked to consider setting this page up for what the future holds for Aiden. With my mother, who remains a widow, and her remaining other 3 adopted children, I can admit that some help in caring for Aiden's needs and building his future are in fact needed.

I am told Aiden is loved by many friends in Perth Amboy. And I have been fortunate to have witnessed it from his church family, neighbors, and city's police department thus far. Should you find it in your heart to help Aiden navigate his future, we would genuinely appreciate any donation. There are so many kids like Aiden who require so much more aid than the average child just to prepare them for an unknown future. Recently, a dear friend of Aiden reminded us it really does take a village to raise a child. Thank you in advance to all willing to help Aiden and his future!

Anyone interested in contacting me via FB or text directly in regards to helping Aiden, and/or helping Mr. Mendoza's family with expenses may do so.

Sincerely,

Kelsey Reyes
