Supporting Amelia and the family

Hello, our names are Scott and Gemma Jones. We're reaching out for financial support in a tough time we're living through and facing ahead of ourselves
We're the parents of Amelia Jones, and this is Amelia's story
Amelia is 9 years old. She's bright, funny, sassy and full of energy! Around march 2022 as parents, we noticed a change in amelia, something not quite right, after Gemma going back and forth with our local GP we was arranged an appointment at Colchester General Hospital, Amelia had a few bloods taken, and we awaited from there.
We received a call for another appointment not long after
Gemma then became quite ill, which we found out was an Etopic pregnacy with twins, Gemma had internal bleeding and had to undergo emergency surgery and stay in the hospital for a week, during this week Scott had to put work on hold and take over looking after the family witch included taking Amelia to what turned out to be a few very important appointments, during this time we were told Amelia had a very rare disease in children called Addison's disease which affects her hormones. Off of this our doctor wanted to do an MRI on Amelias brain.
We took a bit of a financial knock just from this alone especially with rising energy and fuel costs after a couple of weeks we received a phone call from the doctor explaining they had found a mass in Amelia's Brain of 24mm and we was referred to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge 50 miles away.
After going back and forth Amelia underwent surgery having a Lumbar Puncher (Spinal Tap) taking 30ml of spinal fluid and a biopsy taking two pieces of the Tumour for testing.
we then tried to go on as normal awaiting the results
On the 22nd of November we got the call we had been dreading...
the tumour was cancer...
with a letter following explaining this was Grade C (Stage 4) Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer, the tumour itself is behind Amelia's Pertuitiy gland which is causing a lot of problems in Amelia's developing body.
Life since then has taken a complete turn for our family!
On the 23rd of November Amelia was admitted to Addenbrookes hospital to have her Hickman Line (Wiggles) placed in her chest and to start Chemotherapy imedditidly
Scott has had to stop work completely to look after our other children and try to run family life as normal. At the same time, Gemma and Amelia continue to stay overnight at Addenbrookes with brief nights at home while amelia is still capable.
The first course of chemotherapy has really taken its toll on amelia causing Mucositis to witch
she had to have a feeding tube put in place to get the right nutrition, Amelia had a few really rough nights recently and ended up throwing the feeding tube up to which Gemma had to pull the rest out.
At this moment in time were awaiting Amelias next course of Chemotherapy and have been told this is a six-month or longer process to hopefully cure amelia of Cancer.
During this time, Scott Physically will not be able to work to keep as much normality for our other children and take turns swapping with Gemma at Addenbrookes hospital so the children get to spend time between both parents.
Financially we just don't know how were going to get through this period of time so we're reaching out for help and support!
Thank you for taking the time to read what we're experiencing at this moment in life
We will continue to write updates, so people know Amelia's Progression
Many thanks

UPDATE 30/1/23
We have an update with Amelia
So after Christmas amelia had to go under surgery again to have a biopsy. We got told Amelia might not have lymphoma it might be germ cell. As parents it was hard to feel like we was starting over again and amelia being poked and prodded again. The lymphoma chemotherapy had worked but with the first biopsy there was top layers of lymphoma and in the middle also germ cells. So after the 2nd biopsy they have said the chemotherapy amelia has already had, has got rid of alot of the lymphoma cells there are still some there but now showing more germ cells. But whilst we waited 2 weeks for results amelia tumor has also grown but thankfully has not spreaded. Amelia now been diagnosed with germ cell,
Amelia finishes her last lot of chemotherapy at the end of March then she will have a Mri scan then we will see if the chemotherapy has worked. If it has amelia might have to go under surgery and radiotherapy or straight to radiotherapy.

Thank you for taking time to read as you can understand things have been really hard and to take everything in and trying to help amelia through this as much as we can. We want to thank you all for all your support and love
