Supporting Ashley with her Chiari Malformation

Friends and family,

I am writing to you today to share the story of my sister, Ashley Payne. In February of this year, Ashley received a life-altering diagnosis: Chiari Malformation.

A Chiari malformation is a rare brain disorder that occurs when the bottom of the brain (the cerebellum) extends into the spinal canal, often blocking spinal fluid flow. Chiari can cause severe headaches, neck pain, dizziness, nausea, balance issues, muscle weakness, and more. Brain surgery is done to relieve symptoms however there is no cure for the condition.

For over a decade, Ashley has suffered from severe migraines and has been in a lot of pain, multiple doctor appointments, and we have not had any answers. Since her diagnosis, she has remained strong and grateful for an answer and hopefully a solution to her pain but is facing a long, expensive, and challenging journey toward recovery.

Ashley's condition has prevented her from working we estimate a total of 8-9 months. As you can imagine, this has put an immense financial strain on her, adding to the already overwhelming emotional and physical toll of her illness. On top of that, she has yet to receive any confirmation regarding whether her disability benefits will cover any of her mounting medical bills.

In an effort to provide Ashley with some much-needed relief and support during this difficult time, I have initiated this fundraiser. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000, which will help cover her medical expenses as well as her basic living costs. However, her overall medical bills are projected to exceed this amount significantly.

I humbly ask you to extend your generosity to Ashley. Even the smallest contribution can make a meaningful impact on her journey toward healing. If each of us could spare even just $1, we could come together as a community and reach our target.
