Supporting Baby Jack’s NICU Journey 

My sister, Courtney and her husband, Kevin are facing an unexpected and challenging journey with their newborn baby, Jack. Baby Jack was born at 28 weeks on 10/28/23. Jack came early due to pregnancy complications related to HELLP syndrome, a severe variant of preeclampsia. 

Currently Jack is in the small baby unit in the NICU, he was 2 pounds 0.5oz and 14” long at birth. He has had quite the journey thus far in his first two weeks of life. Jack will remain in the NICU for several months, and if there is one thing we learned quickly about Jack, he is a fighter!

We are creating this GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burden on Courtney and Kevin during this difficult time. Courtney has a heart for people where she provides outpatient mental health counseling services to her community. Unfortunately, due to Courtney being an independent contractor, she does not have access to any paid leave/FMLA benefits. With Jack’s sudden arrival and current medical needs, Courtney had to go out on an unpaid leave, two and a half months before her projected maternity leave. Medical expenses, NICU care, and other unforeseen costs can quickly add up, and your support can make a significant difference in their lives allowing them less worry and letting them focus solely on Baby Jack.
