Supporting Barney in his Cancer journey

Hello wonderful friends,

On the 15th of July we got some terrible news.. Barney got diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer meaning it had spread to other areas of his body.

This was a huge surprise to everyone, he’s 33 and until very recently had no telling signs of what was happening.

After urgent surgery to remove the tumour that was obstructing his bowel we found out the extent of what was going on.

Barney is still recovering from this open abdominal surgery, but with a huge team of doctors and medical professionals they are working out a plan for his treatment.

This treatment will be a long and hard one. He will be facing many chemotherapy rounds, radiation and likely more surgery in the future.

Barney is a wonderful father to Liam and Brody and is a fantastic husband to his wife Mel. He is the provider for his family and this will take a huge toll on them all financially.

With lengthy hospital stays, medical bills and being incapacitated from work, I thought I would see what our wonderful friends and family could offer for helping them start this terrifying journey.

The money will go to paying for general necessities whilst their income is forgone, pay for additional medical expenses not covered by the government and also for the ongoing therapy for Liam with his Autism.

I will continue to provide updates on here so everyone can track Barney’s progress! He’s staying super strong and has a fantastic attitude!

However, the family is extremely overwhelmed right now with all that is in front of them. They have asked to have their privacy in this moment, but if you have any well wishes please send them to me and I will pass it on!

He only wants to make sure his beautiful family are being taken care of! Which is what I’m trying to help him do! So if you can help out in any way… we would be so grateful!
