*** ON SATURDAY 29TH MAY, ROCHDALE SPORTS CLUB VETS ALONG WITH MANY OF BENS FRIENDS WILL BE UNDERTAKING A 15 MILE WALK FROM HEBDEN BRIDGE TO ROCHDALE CRICKET CLUB. THE WALK WILL COMMENCE AT 10AM MEETING POINT TO BE CONFIRMED. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND***
On Sunday 9th may one of our very good friends suffered an horrendous injury playing for ROCHDALE VETS FC.
Ben Fielding sustained a dislocation and compound fracture to his ankle. One of the worst the doctors have ever seen.
As a result he is still currently in hospital undergoing numerous operations. This is devastating for himself and his young family.
Everyone who has ever played with or against Ben will tell you what a warrior he is on a football pitch. But off it he is one of the nicest, most genuine guys you will ever meet.
We as a club along with all of Ben’s other teams are pulling together.
Ben is self employed, has three children and a wife to support so this tragic incident will mean he has lost out on so much income for his family.
